Day 51: Farewell To Autumn

With today being the last day of autumn, I thought that it would be fitting to go down to the park, and play with the kids in amongst the autumn leaves.  If you click on the first photo you'll be able to see the enjoyment on the kids faces :-)

Day 50: The Change Of Shifts

Caught this during daybreak with the iphone.  I was shattered that I didn't have the dSLR with me but you make do with what you've got.

Day 47: Sunset On The Rails

After a nice few hours out taking a stroll with the family, we were on our way home, when I spotted a beautiful sunset.  I immediately stopped and took some photos of the beautiful scene, which Megs was ok with as long as we were back in time to get to the shops.  Awesome.  I finished with time to spare.  Continuing along the road, it wasn't long when I saw another potential awesome shot.  Pulling the car around I ended up going down a very narrow side road that ran along next to a train line.  I had pictured that where the sunset was, was going to be over the train line in the distance.  Hopping out of the car, I could see that I wasn't wrong.  I took some shots standing on the tracks, and then I thought that I could improve the shot if I was laying next to the rails. So that's what I did, I lay next to the rails to get the shot haha.  After finishing the shot, not even 2 minutes later a train went pass both ways :-)  Incidentally got to the shops 2 minutes late and missed out ...... oops sorry Megs lol

Day 43: Avenue Of Honour

In Bacchus Marsh there is an avenue of honour, where those local men and women that served in WW1 are honoured and remembered by having their names on the elms that line the avenue.  Some of those locals didn't return.  When standing in the avenue of honour, there is a certain kind of peace and tranquility that washes over you.  It's very beautiful and hopefully the photo that I took does it justice.  I love how the rays of the sun hit the memorial plaque and highlight it.

Day 34: High Chair Adventures

Today was the first time that we'd put the babies in high chairs and then tried them on solids.

Day 33: Happy 4th Birthday Jack

Day 32: Jack

Jack & I constantly clash.  Whether this is because we're so much alike or not I don't know, but at the end of the day we love each other.  I know I expect too much of my poor little man with him being the oldest out of the four boys.  I really do need to lower my expectations which would probably help with the constant clashing.  I am so proud that more often than not that he'll think of his brother when it comes to sharing.  It's pretty scary when looking back to when he was born five weeks premature and then fast forwarding to the present.  He has grown up so much, and I'm proud of the kind hearted little boy that he's become.

Day 31: Walking With Dinosaurs

The other day, as part of Jack's birthday present, we went to see Walking With Dinosaurs.  It was a fantastic show, which Jack & Lewis thoroughly enjoyed.  The following shot was taken with the Canon IXUS 300HS as I was not sure whether I was going to be allowed to take the dSLR into the show.  As it turned out flash photography wasn't allowed, but nothing about using cameras

Day 30: 'It's Not That Big'

First of all sorry that it's been a little while since posting. It's been hectic week which seemed to start with Megs's ebay purchase. I had no idea what she bought, only that it was a cupboard for my various bits and pieces that I have clogging up the drawers in the bedroom, and that it wasn't meant to be too big. Hahaha yeah you're very funny Megs. The sucker weighs a tonne as it's made out of a very solid wood and it almost touches the ceiling in our house. So not big at all

Day 29: The Prickly Weed

Even though it's a weed, its funny that even though it is a weed, that it still has a beauty to it

Day 28: Dream A Little Dream II

With the kids not being well yesterday it meant that I was limited in what I could take shots of. However I did manage to capture a sleeping Oliver this time :-)

Day 27: Hidden Treasures

Who would've thought that this beautiful river ran underneath a freeway? I certainly didn't until today. I noticed it as I drove across a part of the freeway that doesn't really seem like a bridge. Noticing a bit of a river down below, I went exploring and soon found it. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. It was quite quiet even though there was a freeway overhead. All that could be heard was the water flowing over the rocks on the riverbed.

Day 26: Cemetery

The challenge this week was to take a photo in a cemetery and think about different angles. Basically the shot could be of any tombstone, or anything really, as long as it was in a cemetery. I thought it through a bit, and came to the conclusion that I didn't want to be walking into a cemetery and taking a shot of any old grave. I wanted a shot that meant something, not only to me, but to other people. I thought of my kids as I often do throughout the day, and started thinking to myself of how blessed I am, and that there are others out there that are less fortunate than me, that have lost a child throughout their journey. I knew the shot I wanted to take and started thinking of crying teddy bears:

Day 25: Bas In A Hat

Sebastian was funny today. Lewis had found one of his old hats, and decided it looked better on Sebastian's head than his. Well Sebastian absolutely loved it and thought having the hat on was the bee's knees. I've never seen a happier baby. Move over Indiana Jones here comes Bas!

Day 24: The Flowery Pincushion

Today whilst driving down one of the main streets, I spotted one of the most amazing looking flowers. With a bright red centre in the middle that almost looks squishy, it had amazing little pin-like protrusions. I can imagine that when the whole tree is in flower, it will look absolutely beautiful.

Day 23: Ashes To Ashes

Its funny how things I never even thought of taking a photo of, pops into my head. Everyday things from a dripping tap to the remnants of a fireplace can make the most interesting photos. I just have to open my mind up more, which was what the challenge from a couple of days ago was about. Today's photo came about when I was around at my mother-in-law's house, and I saw the remains of a burnt newspaper that had turned to ashes, however you could still make out the print from the newspaper.

Day 22: Drip ...... Drip ...... Drip

Today I decided to have a lazy day inside, and took some photos of the tap dripping, to see if I could catch a shot of the water drops just as they hit the water. To get the photos I placed a glass casserole dish full of water on top of a red chopping board, underneath a dripping tap. This is how it turned out:

Day 21: Dream A Little Dream

Tonight Sebastian fell asleep on Megs and just looked so at peace and so at home. I can't believe the small window of time when they're like this and fall asleep on you. The bigger boys would never do this anymore unless they were sick
